Automatic Spot Welding Machine Case Study for Jewelry Manufacturing

How Automatic Spot Welding Machines Solved Labor Shortages and Improved Production Efficiency in a Jewelry Factory

In the jewelry manufacturing industry, welding is a critical process that directly affects product quality, production efficiency, and delivery reliability. However, heavy reliance on skilled labor and frequent workforce turnover have become long-term challenges for many jewelry factories.

Automatic Spot Welding Machine Case Study for Jewelry Manufacturing

Before upgrading to automated equipment, our welding department required 15 skilled workers to maintain daily production. Even with full staffing, the average output was only around 50 kg of welded materials per day. During peak seasons—especially toward the end of each year—worker turnover increased significantly. After the New Year, recruiting and training new workers became increasingly difficult, leading to unstable production capacity and rising operational pressure.

Automation Upgrade: 18 Automatic Spot Welding Machines Introduced

To address labor shortages and production inefficiencies at the root level, the company decided to upgrade its welding process through automation. A total of 18 automatic spot welding machines were introduced and deployed across the workshop.

After installation, the welding process became standardized and highly automated, reducing dependence on manual operations while significantly improving production stability.

Measurable Results After Implementation

The advantages of automatic spot welding machines became evident shortly after deployment:

1.Reduced reliance on skilled labor, easing recruitment and retention pressure

2.Consistent and improved welding efficiency, even during peak production periods

3.High welding point consistency, effectively lowering defect and rework rates

4.Support for long-term continuous operation, ensuring stable output and on-time delivery

By replacing traditional manual welding with automated spot welding machines, the factory successfully overcame labor instability issues while establishing a more scalable and controllable production system.

Ideal for Jewelry and Precious Metal Welding Applications

Automatic spot welding machines are widely used in various jewelry manufacturing processes, including gold and silver jewelry welding, chain production, precious metal wire connections, and semi-finished jewelry components. They are especially suitable for manufacturers seeking higher efficiency, stable quality, and long-term production reliability.
